Williamsburg, Va., September 27, 2010

The Southern Bleacher Company, based in Graham, Texas, has the green light to proceed with construction of the new Martin Family Stadium soccer and lacrosse facility at the College of William & Mary's Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg, Va.

"We are excited and honored to head up this project and to be a part of the athletics legacy at William & Mary," said Garrett Pettus, vice president of Southern Bleacher. "These teams have turned out an amazing number of All-American athletes and set NCAA records. They have loyal fans, and we're going to give every one of them the best seat in the house."

General contractor Hourigan Construction and architectural firm BCWH, both of Richmond, Va., will be developing design drawings and managing schedules and project coordination. Southern Bleacher also worked with Hourigan Construction and BCWH on the recently completed University of Richmond First Market Stadium project due to open in September.

The new facility will be named for Eff and Patty Martin and their children. The Martins began their relationship with William & Mary when their daughter Julia chose it for her undergraduate degree and helped the school set a record for conference wins in 2009 as co-captain of the Tribe lacrosse squad. Eff Martin serves on multiple boards at Stanford University, where Southern Bleacher completed Stanford Stadium in 2006.
